Submissions

The ATF Newsletter is committed to documenting the exciting and obsessive world of 21st-century typecasting. Our commitment relies humbly on your expertise.

We are looking for articles about any aspect of metal typefounding. This includes, but is not limited to, historical research, technical issues and solutions, as well as letters, personal stories, or questions. We are eager for all your contributions and ideas.

We invite queries first. Please send us a brief email describing who you are, along with a short description of the article or articles you think might work for the newsletter. From there, we can discuss what to focus on. Once a query is accepted, we’ll set a timeline for submission.

We plan to publish Issue #46 in the second half of 2024. Queries for this issue should be submitted before May 1, 2024.

Send your queries to newsletter@americantypecastingfellowship.org.

Please note, all published material will be openly licensed via the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) 4.0 license, unless noted otherwise. This helps ensure our community’s knowledge can be made widely available. It will be our practice to publish our selections first in the print journal, where they will be in a durable and archival form. Then, at some point after printing and distributing the issue, we will share select material on the website, so that the information can reach the widest possible audience and serve the broader community.
